Vision

To ensure that parks and recreation programs are well funded and available for people of all ages close to where they live and work.

Mission

• Work to enhance and preserve the livability of our community and the quality of life for all residents.
• Provide support and generate funding for the operation of public parks, natural areas, cultural and historic resources, recreation facilities and programs and help strengthen and expand these services.
• Advocate for public parks, trails, natural areas, cultural and historic resources, recreation facilities and programs that are accessible and affordable for all.

Goals adopted by the Board are to:

• Promote and advocate for maintaining and improving all parks, trails, natural areas, and programs for our community to enjoy;
• Assist in the preservation of cultural and historic resources such as Owens Farm;
• Increase funding for programs and projects for youth, Osborn Aquatic Center, Senior Center, Majestic Theatre;
• Acquire new neighborhood parks and upgrade existing ones;
• Generate community engagement through volunteer activities;
• Promote the development of facilities and programs that are accessible and affordable for all;
• Help educate the community on the health and financial benefits of parks and recreation programs and facilities.
