The Friends of CPR is seeking grants and other funding opportunities during 2020 and beyond for the following City of Corvallis Parks and Recreation Projects. These are not listed in order or priority, timing depends upon funding availability. Costs are estimates only and will change depending upon the timing of the project and available funds.
Peace Pole in Central Park: Karen explained that a limestone replacement for the one that was taken down will be installed. The word “peace” will be in 14 languages.
Drinking Fountain Replacements: Chintimini, Lilly, Martin Luther King, Pioneer, Porter, Starker, Washington, Lion’s’ Shelter. Eight drinking fountain replacements are needed at approximately $2,400 each
Barbeque Replacements: Old grills are rusting and are not ADA compliant Fireside Shelter (1), Maple Grove Shelter (2), Walnut Barn (3). A total of six grills are needed at a cost of $300 per grill.
Grand Oaks Park: Replace/Repair asphalt at playground. Cost is approximately $5,000
Two aides to assist children with disabilities in Parks and Recreation Summer Camps: Providing programs that include those with disabilities has been a key part of the social diversity within the Park and Recreation programs. Providing aides allows for participants with disabilities to engage in activities in regular recreation programs. Cost is approximately $7,500 annually.
Osborn Aquatic Center Otter Kids Program: Parents and children with special needs work together to learn valuable life saving swimming skills in a fun and safe environment. Cost is approximately $6,500 annually.
